BBI Acquired by Salford Group
/October 3, 2014 (CORNELIA, GA) BBI Spreaders, a leading manufacturer of precision applicators of dry material for the agriculture, construction, and golf industries, announces its acquisition by Salford Group, Inc. The transaction closed on October 2, 2014.
Based in Salford, Ontario, Salford Group is manufacturer of ground-engaging farm implements with global production facilities in Iowa, Ontario, and Russia. The company manufactures and distributes a full line of tillage equipment, as well as seeding and fertilizer application tools sold through more than 300 dealers and distributors in North America and around the world.
The merging of the BBI and Salford organizations will enhance several aspects of the companies’ respective product lines, and the two entities expect to see multiple synergies within their combined sales and distribution networks, spanning hundreds of farm equipment dealers placed primarily across the United States and Canada.
BBI will continue to manufacture industry-leading spreaders, known for their precision, power, and efficiency in driving greater economic performance on the farm, from its Georgia manufacturing facility. Richard Hagler, President of BBI Spreaders, will continue to manage manufacturing operations at the new Salford unit, while Lee Kilpatrick, Director of Sales and Marketing at BBI, will report to David King, Global Director of Sales and Marketing at Salford Group.
The two companies will join forces publicly for the first time at the upcoming Sunbelt Ag Expo in Moultrie, Georgia on October 14-16. Salford sales team members will be on-hand tocelebrate the addition of BBI Spreaders to its design, manufacturing and marketing family, displaying one of Salford’s latest patented tillage designs in the BBI booth, alongside many of BBI’s top products for broadcast nutrient application.
