Salford Group Rolls Out to Western Farm Show, International Crop Expo
/The Salford Group show team is at it again this week, showing off the company’s industry leading tillage and fertilizer application equipment at the Western Farm Show in Kansas City, Missouri and the International Crop Expo in Grand Forks North Dakota.
The 54th Western Farm Show takes place at Kansas City’s American Royal Complex from February 20-22. The show that bills itself as “the Heart of Ag,” the Western Farm Show annually brings the warmth of the American Heartland’s farming community to the cold winter season, welcoming more than 500 exhibitors from every corner of the agriculture sector.
Salford Group has expanded its space at the Western Farm Show in support of Heartland dealers. The Salford booth is located on the venue’s upper level in booths 2807 and 2701 alongside Dodge, Chevrolet, and the Missouri Farm Bureau’s Health and Safety Roundup.
Territory managers Greg Mueller, David Shearer, and Brian Hobson will be lending their support to area dealers at the show, sharing their expertise on maximizing productivity, equipment performance, and precision agriculture. Joining them from Salford BBI’s regional headquarters in Georgia are division President Richard Hagler and Russ McEver, manager of customer support for electronics, parts, and service.
The fertilizer applicators on display will be a pair of breakthrough spreaders—the recently-launched Javelin hydraulic top-dresser from the Producer Series and MagnaSpread, the company’s flagship series of hydraulic models for precision application of fertilizer and lime. Javelin recently set a new standard for fertilizer application, as the spreader’s all-new spinner system achieves a wide, flat spread pattern of 120 feet, enabling a true drive interval of the same width, matching global standards for controlled traffic farming.
The 14-foot MagnaSpread tandem-axle pull-type featured at the show is optimized for precision agriculture applications on medium to large-sized farming operations. An option-rich line with unparalleled performance in the targeted application of fertilizer and lime, MagnaSpread is available with Salford BBI exclusives like multi-bin models (MagnaSpread 2 and 3), models featuring “no-quit,” Continuous-Duty Hydraulics (MagnaSpread Ultra), and true variable-rate precision application from the standard-equipment Salford BBI Electronics Task Command System (all MagnaSpread models).
Salford will also show off industry leading tillage designs from their Independent Series, the I-2100 and the I-5100. The Independent Series has redefined the global tillage equipment sector over the last decade pioneering true vertical tillage machines; the I-5100 with more powerful high speed, high-clearance primary tillage; and the latest innovations in precision tillage options capable of site-specific tillage action.
Salford’s new precision tillage attachments, the SwitchBlade Hydraulic Shanks and Flex Finish Hydraulically Adjustable Rolling Baskets, will be prominently displayed at the Western Farm Show. These new hydraulically-adjustable attachments allow producers to change their tillage intensity in seconds—from the comfort of the tractor seat—adapting to different moisture and residue conditions right in the same field. These adaptive tillage machines also perform different spring and fall tillage operations from the same frame. SwitchBlade shanks on the I-Series vertical tillage machine turn one machine into three performing superior vertical tillage with no shanks engaged, excellent chisel ripping and residue management with shanks on 15 inch spacing and/or dry fertilizer and anhydrous application on 15 inch or 30 inch spacing. The I-Series design is capable of outperforming most dedicated implements available, and these various options are all on one frame making these tools much more cost effective for farmers than purchasing three machines. Also this week, the team from Salford dealer Dick Hansen Sales will be appearing at the International Crop Expo. This year’s International Crop Show will be taking place at the Alerus Center in Grand Forks, North Dakota, from February 19-20.
The International Crop Expo is an educational event focused on Northern Plains-area growers of soybeans, dry beans, small grains, and potatoes, with programming developed by the North Dakota State University and Minnesota Extension Services.
In this more intimate setting, area dealer Dick Hansen Sales will take the opportunity to showcase multiple components and attachments from the Salford line of tillage equipment, including shanks, coulters, and hydraulic harrow packages. In addition, the Hansen team will have multiple displays of product literature and videos showing the real economic value of Salford equipment in the field.
