BBI Continues Support of TN Farmers Cooperative Annual Meeting

BBI Spreaders is proud to announce its premier sponsorship of the annual meeting of one of the largest agriculture federations in the United States, the Tennessee Farmers Cooperative.

Held in July in Fort Walton Beach, Florida, the annual managers meeting is a highlight of the Co-op’s summer calendar, an opportunity for networking, sharing of best farming practices, and continuing education opportunities with topics ranging from agronomy to advances in equipment and precision agriculture technology.  Lee Kilpatrick, Director of Sales and Marketing at BBI Spreaders, will represent the company at the 2014 event, which marks the ninth consecutive year that BBI has sponsored the annual meeting of the Co-op’s management team.

The Tennessee Farmers Cooperative is headquartered in the Nashville suburb of LaVergne, Tennessee. Founded in 1945, the Tennessee Farmers Co-op has grown from its original 33 member co-op-strong federation to a group representing nearly 60 member co-operatives and more than 150 retail outlets across 83 of Tennessee’s 95 counties.  In addition to serving more than half a million customers from these retail outlets, the Co-op has also expanded beyond the borders of the Volunteer State in recent years, as member co-operatives have expanded their presence into the bordering states of Kentucky, Georgia, Virginia, North Carolina, and Mississippi.

While the Co-op’s retail locations stock a variety of products for the farm, BBI works with the organization’s Ag Equipment division, a group tasked with helping farmers by bringing the best equipment, including sprayers, implements, and dry material applicators, to their fields.

Currently on offer to Co-op stores, through the Ag Equipment division, is a full arsenal of BBI’s industry-leading spreaders for a variety of applications.   The company stocks multiple configurations of MagnaSpread and Endurance, BBI’s hydraulic lines for large-acreage applications of fertilizer and lime, as well as litter and other organic materials.  In addition to the hydraulic offerings, the Tennessee Farmers Co-op offers a host of spreader solutions in the mechanical, ground-wheel drive class, including Liberty, the company’s offering for small and mid-sized farming operations, and Cricket, BBI’s mechanical spreader family with option packages optimized for ag and turf farms, golf course management, and orchards and vineyards.

TFC’s Ag Equipment division also carries Trooper, BBI’s precision solution for small-acreage farms needing rental equipment towable by truck or tractor, as well as Grasshopper, a nine-foot single-axle design optimized for mid-season top dressing of row crops.

In addition to sponsoring the company’s summer managers’ meeting, BBI Spreaders also delivers continuing education on an annual basis to equipment drivers among the cooperative’s thousands of members.

“With almost 70 years of serving farmers across Tennessee and the Deep South, the Tennessee Farmers Coop is an institution of southern agriculture,” stated Kilpatrick.  “We are honored to once again step forward as a premier sponsor of the annual managers meeting, an event that brings together the best and brightest minds from the southern farming community.  The Co-op continues to stay true to the vision of its founders years ago, and events educational events such as the summer managers meeting are keeping the Co-op at the forefront of progress on the farm. We are honored to have our equipment serve as a foundation to the Tennessee Farmers Co-op’s commitment to precision, power, and efficiency for better bottom-line profitability for farmers across the South.”
