James River, headquartered in the Washington suburb of Ashland, Virginia, boasts 28 locations in North Carolina and Virginia. The company offers new and used products, parts, and service for equipment used in agriculture, forestry, wind energy, and construction. In addition, James River sells products for consumer and commercial use in lawn and garden, feed and seed.
19 of the company’s 28 locations offer agricultural equipment, tractors, and implements.
Since 2011, James River has served Carolinas and Virginia farmers—prominent in the nation’s cotton, corn, soybean, and peanut production—with a full inventory of BBI’s spreaders for multiple applications, including granular fertilizer, lime, and litter. James River stocks the MagnaSpread, Endurance, Liberty, and Grasshopper lines at multiple locations throughout its footprint.
Paul Vaughan, of the James River Mount Airy, NC location, talked about their decision to switch to BBI Spreaders, “Our customers have told us they saved money through the great spread pattern that provides an even distribution of material per acreage. BBI Spreaders are built really well with so many options we can give to customers. What few problems we have had, they have been Johnny-on-the-spot to take care of it.”

Copeland and a team representing several of James River’s Virginia locations will be traveling to Mechanicsville, Virginia on August 2 for the Virginia Ag Expo. James River’s team and Copeland will be showcasing MagnaSpread, BBI’s hydraulic fertilizer for granular fertilizer and lime applications, at this year’s Expo on the grounds of Grainfield Farm.
