Doty Plants Salford Group Flags at Empire Farm Days

Salford Group’s Phill Doty is bringing the excitement to northeast ag with next week’s running of the Empire Farm Days show in upstate New York.

The largest outdoor agricultural show in the northeastern United States, Empire Farm Days takes place annually at Rodman Lott & Sons Farm in Seneca Falls. This year’s event takes place August 11-13, showcasing the usual array of tractors, farm implements, and dairy industry innovations, as well as working demonstrations, live animal seminars, and more than 600 exhibits loaded with the latest agricultural information for successful farming.

Doty, Salford’s northeast territory manager, will be in booth 437 to support northeastern dealers and educate attending farmers about Salford Group’s emerging, comprehensive lineup of tools built for soil productivity. He will bring several machines from across the Salford spectrum, including Salford tillage equipment, Valmar seeders, and BBI spreaders.

In the demonstration field, attendees should be sure to check out the brand new hybrid tillage beast from Salford’s Independent Series, the I-4200. Paired with a Valmar seeder, the I-4200 is built for soil productivity by combining elite residue mixing and superior field finishing capabilities seen in previously introduced I-Series machines. The I-4200, launched at this summer’s Canada’s Farm Progress Show, marks Salford’s continued commitment to increasing potential return on investment via versatility and performance with each successive generation of equipment innovation.

Back in booth 437, Doty will display a pair of Salford tillage pieces, the I-5100 and the 9700. The longest tillage frame in the I-Series, the I-5100 is the series’ first full primary tillage tool.  The 9700 is known as Salford’s “conservation tillage specialist,” as it performs multiple operations, including soil tillage, minimum tillage, deep tillage finishing or deep ripping, to reduce capital costs and maintenance required for multiple pieces of equipment normally required to perform the same jobs on the farm.

Doty is bringing a full arsenal of broadcast spreaders from BBI to Empire Farm Days, featuring four fertilizer and lime spreaders designed to meet the needs of farming operations in the northeastern US.  MagnaSpread is BBI’s flagship line of hydraulic fertilizer and lime spreaders, optimized for precision targeting of nutrients.

Also on display is Cricket Vineyard, a pull-type spreader designed with adjustable track-widths and a low profile suitable for orchards and vineyards. Finally, Doty will showcase Grasshopper, a high-clearance spreader designed for mid-season, top-dress applications and Trooper, a compact, rugged model primarily used in fleets for small farm operations.
