Salford Spotlight: Meet Dave

MEET Dave Epp, Salford Group inc. Assembly/Paint Supervisor, Norwich plant

What department do you work in Assembly and Paint

How long have you been at Salford: I have worked for Salford for six and half years. I started in assembly, then was promoted to VMC programmer/operator, then moved on to be the assembly lead hand on the night shift for about two years. Then was presented the opportunity to take over the assembly and Paint division in Norwich where I have now been for the last two years.

Tell us a bit about you outside of Salford:

What Stands out the most for me is how much the company has expanded and evolved in the time I have been here.

Can you describe the Assembly team dynamic?

I have an excellent team that keeps growing! I can always count on them to tackle any situation that comes their way and can fully depend on them to get the job done to Salford’s high standards. It’s the people that make a great company and we have a great team!

What is the day in the life of the Assembly/Paint supervisor for Salford:

I always start my day off by walking the floor and greeting all the employees and taking notes on what the needs for that day are. Then complete times sheets, run planner workbench, schedule trucks and complete our daily parts orders as well as prioritize the paints division on what’s needed for that day. I also make sure the night shift schedule is completed all the while helping employees troubleshoot any issues that arise. I enjoy helping where I can regardless if it’s my department. I take pride in being flexible in all areas within the company.

What is something that surprised you about Salford/Ag manufacturing that you did know before you started:

Before starting at Salford I had very little Ag experience. I was surprised at the complexity of Salford Machinery! A lot of hard work and pride goes into each piece of equipment that is produced here!

Describe working at Salford in 5 words:

Challenging, Rewarding, and Rapidly expanding.

What do you enjoy doing in your time away from the office?

In my spare time, I enjoy a wide range of sports including disc golfing, baseball, hockey, fishing and spending time with my amazing family! I also really enjoy making hot sauce and spicy pickles and watching Wynn struggle trying them after I told him they are not hot! Lol
